West Central Fall Bass League - Nest Lake

October 30th marked the final event scheduled for the 2010 West Central Fall Bass League season. We returned to Nest Lake which is where the Fall League kicked off about 2 months ago. After a massive front that moved through earlier in the week expectations for good catches were low and that proved to be true. The water temps had dropped over 10 degrees and the winds had really churned it up. Only 1 limit was brought in by the five teams fishing. With 5 boats fishing there were two spots paid.

1st - Andy Nitchals & Grant King 5 12.60 lbs
2nd - Wayne & Ralph 3 6.08 lbs

Big Bass - Grant King 4.32 lbs

Going into the day I felt that fishing the greenest cabbage we could find would be our best bet to get a limit and that is exactly how it played out. Finding the good green weeds though was difficult and much of the day was spent fishing in seemingly dead water. When we were able to find good weeds though there were a few bites to be had. Our fish ended up coming from 2 areas that were 3 to 6 feet deep. I really struggled personally on the day but Grant was able to clean up and catch most of our fish on a Jackall Cover Craw fished slowly in the weeds.
